Alrighty We have had the survey of all the big buck pistols. Now lets hear from you CZ guys.

I don't have one but I want a CZ75 d compact.

I like mine.

Decent SA trigger that you can carry cond.1 (I can't stand DA/SA or DAO.)
Lots of 15rd mags available, for good prices.
Available in 9mm, .40, or .45ACP.
Very pointable, ergonomics comparable to, but not quite just like, a BHP.
Easy to strip down and rebuild.
Accurate, more so than me, anyways.
Cheap! This is important to me.

Downsides - It's big. I can conceal mine under a vest or untucked flannel shirt, but I wouldn't wan't to carry one under a T-shirt.

The CZ series is probably my second-favorite type of pistol. First being the BHP.

Later,
Chris

Very fond of my satin nickel CZ75B in 40 S&W that I picked up for $367 plus tax. It's very accurate right out of the box and has a decent trigger.

Being a 1911 fan I also like the fact it can be carried cocked and locked. I like it so much that I'm getting another chambered in 9mm at the next gun show.

IMO it's the best bang for your buck.

I liked the CZ 75B Military so much at the price, $349, that I made it my first 9mm. Had never even wanted a 9mm all these years, but had finally heard so much good about them that I tried one. Accurate and perfectly reliable through the first 700-plus rounds. John

I do not have one, but I will have a CZ-75 DAO in .40 some day.

Hello. I own several of the 75s made in the early '80s. This design is my favorite DA/SA autopistol in 9mm. In fact, the only 9mm I like better is the Browning HP MkIII. Best.

CZ75B here, poly finish. I had Trijicons installed on mine so I have no idea what the factory night sights are like.

DA trigger pull is long, a little gritty, SA trigger is creepy, not to heavy. I had the DA trigger smoothed and lightened, the SA trigger lightened a little and some of the creep taken out, but it IS NOT a "great" SA trigger, like a 1911. You can't get it to be either, not safely. After the triggerjob it feels alot like a Sig.

This gun feels very nice in my hand, very much like a Hi-Power. Stock grips are fine, I've put rubber grips on it and I like them. The dimensions are also similar to a HP as well.

Functionally, this pistol is very strong and very reliable. It's eaten everything I've fed it, from wadcutters to Blacktip subgun ammo and Corbon +P with zero failures. Standard capacity mags are cheap and easy to find.

Fit and finish are ok, the poly finish serves it's purpose. The machining is rather poor though, when you look inside the slide and frame this becomes very evident. It's not an HK, but it's not priced like an HK either and it's reliable so who cares?

Overall I would say for the money it's a very good buy, and with a triggerjob its great.

Greetings,

My only 9mm pistol is my CZ-75BD. The accuracy of this pistol is remarkable. The Hogue cocobolo grips are beautiful, and make the gun distinctive.

It's my bedside gun, and my IDPA gun.

Regards,

Ledbetter

1 CZ-75B here. I love this pistol: it is very reliable with zero hiccups no matter how crappy the ammo was. Nothing fits my hand like this pistol: the front sight just seems to naturally appear where I want it. Accuracy is excellent, much better than what I am capable of. An awesome deal at $399 (w/2 hi-caps).

CZ-75B Mil. here. Surely a best buy. Great ergonomics, great pointability, soft shooting and VERY accurate. DA trigger is a little long but not bad,SA could be crisper but isn`t too heavy. Very slim slide makes it great for IWB carry and with Hogue cocobolo grips it`s actually 1/16" *thinner* than a SA 1911 with stock grips! I`ve been carrying mine IWB under an untucked T shirt for a few weeks now and it conceals very well. BTW thanks to all the guys on TFL who recomended them. I would never have bought one otherwise. Marcus

CZ-75B Military here also. Got a good deal and a -great- pistol. This has become my favorite shooter. Zero malfunctions of any kind and supremely accurate.

Got a Kadet .22LR conversion kit for it recently so I can shoot it a bit more without breaking the bank.

Since buying the CZ most of the other pistols have been collecting a bit more dust than normal.

I like it so much that I have already decided that my next purchase (for me.....buying the Glock for my wife doesn't count :)) will be a CZ-97B in .45acp.

In case any of the above was not clear, yes, I am a -very- satisfied CZ customer. :)

Marcus & Ledbetter,

Both of you stated you have the Hogue wood grips for your CZ's. Did you get the checkered or smooth versions? The present grips are okay but I know the look of dark wood against a satin nickel frame would really please the eye and enhance the feel of an already ergonomic design.(Nice to know they are slimmer than stock) :)

I had always liked the looks and feel of the CZ75 and had a friend that owned one before they were importable for sale in the US. They were very hard to come by then and I never found one at a reasonable price. :(

Once they started importing them, I was a little leary of the new versions (75B) until I noticed all the good reviews posted here and other forums I frequent. Thanks guys for leading me to what I feel was a very smart purchase. It's a keeper!!

Looks like I'll be getting another one, this time in 9mm to keep the one I have in 40 S&W company. Hoping to find one in two tone at the next gun show the first of October. I have a Kadet 22LR conversion in transit as we type :)

CZ-75B Mil--I've had mine for two weeks now. and only been able to put 30 rounds (FMJ and JHP) through it. What I did fire was reliable and accurate and made a nice ragged hole at a range of 25 feet! More ammo to be fired soon!! Love my CZ!!

Bandit I got checkered. The checkering is a panel of checkering that starts about 3/8" from the back edge of the grip panels and sweeps smoothly up to about mag release level. It`s really attractive and also help to keep shirts from snagging on the checkering. I LOVE em! :) Marcus

A CZ 50,CZ 75B and a CZ 97B. The 75 is my favorite of the three followed very closely by the 97. I agree with most of the comments, good trigger, good ergonomics, $40-50 standard factory mags and can be found at very good prices. I paid $329 (+ tax, etc.) for my 75B in Jan '99 and have been very happy since. The 97 has been just as accurate as my 75 (I have fired my tightest groups with it) but I find, since I don't reload, feeding the 75 is easier on my wallet. If anyone is still on the fence thinking about a CZ, I say check one out again.

Hey Bandit, so would that make my gun the Czech 75 or the Slovak 75 ?

Dobre Den comrade, the gun is older than both you and I.
