Which stock do you prefer,the one on the 550American or the 550 Lux or the 550 full stock?I like the american,but it does not come with iron sights.Would the comb on the 550lux be to low for a scope?ALSO,whats good&bad about a full stock?
 
The full stock looks great to me and I believe it has the same comb as the Lux model. I want one in .308 Win, then again I want a lot of things.

Can I ask why the American was a bad idea? I already got my rifle for this year, but was still considering it for next year, in .308.
 
As best I can make out, the American stock is the result of some focus group trying to figure out what Remington markets well. Rather than defining their own niche in the market place, they ape an inferior competitor, trying to capture a market they're not going to get anyway.

In short, this is just about exactly how New Coke got started. Just do what you do well, for crying out loud.
