CZ Purist Question

I presently own a CZ75B and am about to procure another CZ. I am left handed and would like to carry cocked and locked. Now my question is should I go with the 85B or the 85B Combat model? Is the Combat model really more accurate? Are the other features worth the extra doe? Can the Combat model be procured with the poly coat? Thanks.

Tom - Yes, you can get the Combat with the polymer finish- that's what mine has. It's no more accurate than my 75B mil, but it's just as accurate. The only thing I don't care for on the Combat are the adjustable sights, in that they don't hold zero very well. The elevation adjustment screw moves around, and I had to put some clear nail polish on it to keep it in place. For a carry piece, I'd go with the 85B, or if you want the extended mag release, drop-free mag, and no firing pin block safety, get the Combat and replace the sights.

Both are available in Polymer finish. It's interesting to note that the Combat model actually has more finish options compared to the plain 85B which is listed on CZ's website only available in Polymer and Gloss Blue finishes.

The 85B combat would be the better choice of the 2 IMHO for the reasons treeprof mentioned including the recomendation to replace the sights. Since you stated this will be a carry weapon, it would behoove you to get rid of the cheezy adjustables CZ chose to use on their combat model. CZ offers fixed tritium night sights that are preferable for a carry weapon. They are available for their 75/85 model pistols with minimal fitting at a reasonable price.

HSW - That should be pretty straightforward for the ambi safety, but probably not the ambi slide stop lever because of the way it's put together. The CZ75 Police does come with drop-free mag set-up, and you can easily modify any of them on your own to do that. The Police model also comes with oversize mag release button and tritium sights, tho it is a decock only model, so C&L carry is not an option.

If you want to move to .40 caliber, the CZ 75B in .40 comes with an ambi-safety and the mags will drop free without modification.
