Cz p01 decocker malfunction

I just bought a used cz p 01. Got it home and discovered the decocker doesn't lower the hammer or do anything. It's manufacturing year was 2009 so it's warranty is up. Apart from this it appears to be in great condition. I'm wondering if this is a case of the previous owner simply not reinserting the decocker pin correctly after disassembly and if the gun is safe to fire in Its current state. Has anyone else experienced this problem before?

I once reassembled my decocker without "reloading" the decocker spring, and it ended up similar to what you're describing. I would not fire in that condition, but I think it's fixable.

What IG said, you're DC spring is either absent, or broken, an easy enough fix for your GS, do yourself a favor and contact CZ USA and order the part so that you can hand both off at the same time.

I would add, though, that the decocker assembly is by far the most annoying part to reassemble on a CZ pistol.

If this is your first time, I would not do it without first ordering the Cajun Gun Works decocker slave pin, and 5-6 spare FPB lifter springs (also known as L-springs) first. The slave pin makes reassembly a lot easier, and the L-springs tend to fly off and disappear if you're not careful. I can manage it easily now, but it took me a while to get the hang of it.
