I am wondering about the CZ 75 accurracy in 40 sw. I have shoot a 9mm cz75, and love the feel of it. I would like to know if the 40SW accuracy adn reliability compared to the 9mm. CZ is traditionally a 9mm pistol and so are berettas. I have read alot oabout beretta 96 are not as accurate as 92s are. Are CZs in 40sw not as reliable adn accurate as 9mm? Some members have also said, 9mm is not a target caliber. They much prefer the 38 special or 45.

I have a CZ-40 and it has proven to be as least as accurate as my CZ-75B 9mm using S&B FMJ in both.

It is my understanding that the CZ-75s are even better since they generally have a smoother trigger plus a slightly longer barrel.

From what Ive personally shot and heard about on the "other" forum. The are in line with the 9mm for accuracy.
Ive heard some say that "in general the 40 S&W round itself, isnt as accurate as the 9mm or Sig" but I havent seen it.
Shoot well

I have the cz40 and find it very accurate,
before purchasing it I had become some
what discouraged with the 40cal.
The cz40 will shoot with my 1911 and
9mm.. Excellent gun.

I had a CZ in .40 and it was the most accurate handgun I owned, Sad to say I had to get rid of it because I have small hands.

I'll let you know how my CZ 40 goes when I get to pick it up on Sat. From what I heard it should be great, some say it is the most accurate 40 out there. If it is anywhere near as accurate as my CZ 75 I'll be happy (the CZ 75 in 9mm is much more accurate than any other gun I've ever shot and most people I've let try it have had similar experiences). Heck even if it is just barely close I'll be happy, it would still probably be the second most accurate gun I've tried.

In my experience, my CZ-75 in .40 S&W is as accurate as any 9mm. Of course, this could be me, since I am no match grade shooter either.
I have always had a hard time believing that certain rounds are inherently more or less accurate. As long as the shape is right for the diameter/length & weight the bullet itself should be okay. The twist rate can be optimized for a given weight/velocity of the cartridge. And the mechanical factors of the gun itself needs to be taken into consideration. Handgun rounds like the .45 ACP, .38 Special, and .44 Special are famously accurate. Of course, we have been using them in competition the longest by far. To say that millions of man hours (only takes 1000 people spending 1000 hours of their lives) have been spent fiddling with these calibers alone is no exageration.
