CZ or Baby Eagle?

These two guns are really close. The only difference I can see is a slide mounted safety vs. frame mounted. Both work for me, so not really a big deal there. Price is w/in $10 so that's not much of an issue. Grips (to me) are equally comfy...Help me decide which one to get!
This will be my dedicated IDPA gun if that matters at all.
By the way, I'll pay about $400 out the door for whichever one I decide to get.
 
Is either anymore accurate than the other? or easier to maintain? or more open to modification? have a better trigger? :confused:
 
Having handled a few dozen of both, the CZ has the better trigger usually. Maintenance is exactly identical as best I can tell. The CZ has more accessories. The one Baby Eagle I've shot comes in a distant third behind not only the CZs, but the Tanfoglios.

Stephen Ewing dropped a name in there that often gets overlooked: Tangfolio.

If you haven't tried one, do yourself a favor and do so. If you like the CZ's and/or the Baby Eagle's, then you're going to also like the Tangfolio's.
 
I saw a Tangfolio once...only once :(...but really liked it. The problem now is that unless I find one at a good price USED, I'm SOL because they're not on the approved list for CA...at least not yet. :rolleyes:
 
Tanfoglio makes most, if not all of the frame/slide combos for the CZ Clones , including the Baby Eagle. They also make their own line of guns..a nicer clone if you will. From there you will get the most differences in the guns...

My parents each have an older Tanfoglio with the slide mounted decocker, compact model (3.5"bbl). The spotted them both, one blue the other ss at the same gun show and grabbed them. Been using them ever since (about 13-15 years) with no troubles. I just switched from my CZ-75B to a SA .45, but still like the CZ for accuracy, reliability, and shootability. The only thing is that it doesn't like the steel case Russian ammo, it locks up with the slide just out of battery even when hand cycling. Their Tanfoglios did the same thing. EVERY other ammo, though, fed without the slightest hiccup. As far as the baby eagle, I've never even seen one in person, only bad pictures on their web site. Also, the CZ has more options. You can get SS, ambi safeties, decockers, etc. as you like.
