Does anyone know just how close a copy of the model 70 the CZ model 3 is? The actions are about identical, but I was wondering about the stocks. Given the short production life of the model 3, there is not much information about it available, but I was wondering whether anyone knew if the stock is interchangeable with a model 70 short action stock.

CZ Model 3 and Winchester Model 70

The CZ model 3 is a Montana Rifleman action. They are supposed to fit in a Winchester Model 70 classic stock. You will need to match the action length with that of the Winchester. Go to montanarifleman.com. They give you a list of companies that can supply you with a stock.
What caliber is your Model 3 in ? I got one for a customer in 300wsm. I put on Dave Talley rings and bases and Burris signature scope. I tuned the trigger and glass bedded the action. It took only 3 shots to sight it in. The only thing I could find wrong was the bolt had some deep tool tracks in it. You could feel the ejector rubbing on them when you cycled the bolt. So, I polished them off and now it is smooth as silk. Glad I could help.
