Has anyone had any experience with the CZ double action military model ? It looks like a clone a Hi power except its double action. I may be in the market for a good 9mm & a guy at the local shop recomended it highly. ANY COMMENTS ?

I bought a CZ 75 B Military last week and quickly found that it deserved its reputation and all of those glowing recommendations. Now I want a CZ .22 and I want to see their over-and-under. See the post halfway down the page called "Which gun should I buy?" There's another CZ thread on page two. John

I just went to the range with my cz75b in 9mm. It's a fantastic gun buy it! I also love the quality .22 conversion you can buy for it, which by the way is much nicer than the ciener conversion I just tried for the glocks. :)

There is a HUNGARIAN HP clone out there that isn't worth the metal its made of IMO. The CZ 75/85's are some of the best 9mm's on the market. Reliable, accurate, durable, and sexy.

Thanks guys I appreciate the input.

It just occurred to me that he may be talking about an FEG, which is based on the High Power design but has double-action mechanism (I think it is called P9R or some such thing).

As far as I know, CZ of the Czech Republic does not manufacture a High Power clone (SA or DA).

FEG of Hungary does (both SA, DA and other calibers including .45ACP).

I just purchased a Hi-Power Practical earlier this year, but it was a tough decision between that and the CZ-75. There are a lot of "CZ-75 vs. Hi-Power" debates on the i-net forums, but both are excellent guns.

The CZ was VERY hard to find in this country until the last 10 years or so. Even last year, I couldn't find a dealer in my area that could order one. There are plenty of stories of guys back in the 80's paying in excess of $1,000 for one of these guns. The gun really was noticed in this country when Jeff Cooper, one of the most well-respected handgun authorities in many people's minds, called the CZ-75 the best combat 9mm handgun in existance.
