CZ failures?

I spoke w/ someone a few days ago and he mentioned how his Bauska import CZ 75s had bad heat treat and broke slide stops and, on one, the slide split in half.

Any imput from CZ owners of the non-B model 75s?

Getting a real CZ is different from getting a CZ Clone. CZ - the company does very well. I would thing that a bad heat treat would not happen. If he got one of the clones for the many farm house factories across europe - who knows what your getting.

I find hard to belive. The Bauska imported CZs are very high quality pistols. I've only heard of problems with the ambi slide release on CZ85s shearing off, the screw that holds the trigger unit coming loose sometimes, and the half cock notch wearing down, but all of these are isolated instances. It's possible that a slide release broke on a CZ75, but more than one I find doubtful. I've never heard of a slide breaking.

Not clones, but the real thing. I thought it might be isolated. The guy claimed he bought 6 from SOG in the 80s and 1 broke 3 slide stops and the other broke the slide.

What`s the significance of being a Bauska? Mine is a B but I know the 75 is regarded by many as being one of the most durable 9mms ever made. Marcus

Bought my first in 1987 while stationed in West Germany for $250 ( should have bought ten, but who knew?): an "A"?, 1500+ through it so far. I take a close look at the slide/rails/stops when I clean it. Nice and shiney but no signs of cracks or wear.

I expect my yet to be fired 75B Mil to be as good.

Bauska is a guarantee it is the original version. MRI and Action Arms also brought some in, but there may some overlap with the "B" model and MRI. Later non-Bs also supposed to be less desirable.

Hello. I've got 4 of the Bauska imports and they've been heavily shot over the years with utterly no problems. I'll recheck parts, but will be surprised to find any cracks. Best to all.

I talked with the gunsmith at CZ about this a while back, and he said that there has not been a problem, as far as he knew, with either the slide stop or the slide.

He noted, however, IF there was a problem with the slide stop, it was probably a function of ammo that was TOO HOT, and a slightly stronger recoil spring would probabl.y solve the problem.

I've put 1000+ through my CZ-75B and 1500+ through my CZ-85 Combat (both of newer design with minor enhancements and some degradations), and no sign of problems, yet.
