CZ Double Shotguns?

Anybody have experience with them? I'm looking at the Bobwhite SxS or Canvasback O/U. 12ga, 28" barrels. I shoot a couple thousand rounds a year, and want a nice banner double gun, and always liked CZ products.

Any feedback on the CZ's or anything else in this price range ($600-800)?

check the Huglu forum at shotgunworld.com, and you will find information. I have a Bobwhite in 20ga. (base model), and it is a functional field gun but isn't the quality of an Uggie 30 (base model) by any means. One of the posters at the Huglu sub-forum has been trying to test the CZ durability so you may find useful information there.

The Huglu IS the CZ. Huglu's quality has been hit and miss, mostly miss, especially for a few thousand rounds a year. For about the same money, a used Ithaca/SKB, Ugartechea, even the S&W Elite Gold come out as better choices. Mark DeHaan brought in the Huglus for a while, but his crew went through them and polished everything up to make them more reliable and have better triggers and performance - you might look for one of those

Thanks for the correction 1 0z.
I had a Huglo side by side and thought it was really great.
Can't remember the CZ connection though.

In this case, it is much like Weatherby - CZ is marketing the shotgun made for them by someone else. My S&W Elite Gold is a Turkish gun, but it was built by a different company - UTAS - and it is quite reliable and a joy to shoot (they also made the Kimber SXS)

Thjere are a LOT of guns made for folks - Springfield's XD pistols in Croatia, Remingtons in Russia, etc....even some of the better English guns are made for them in italy.

Hopefully Huglu will keep getting better - they have come a long way since they started, but, IMO, they still have a long way to go. (It DID take the Japanese a long time to make quality cars), so they'll get there - they have the equipment, perhaps their labor force needs some maturing and more experience.

If all you are going to do with a Huglu is some minor hunting - it MAY do OK.....but if you are going to rely on it for thousands of rounds a year, there are better choices with better reps for quality
