just picked up a cz 97b earlier this week.what a fine pistol!amazing accurate out of the box and it seems that that you can feed about any kind of ammo through it.anybody else got one and if so what do ya think?

I think you made a good choice. My 97 is the most accurate of all my pistols. It goes to the range every time because it is such a joy to shoot.

My next pistol is going to be a CZ 75B Single Action. Closest I'll ever get to a $350 9mm 1911. I haven't handled the 97, but CZ does appear to be making the best pistol-per-dollar out there.
 
grips for cz

A guy named Hakan from the CZ board makes some real nice wooden grips for cz's. His email address is s-k-pek@frisurf.no

I like my CZ75B, although I had to replace a defective slide-stop spring on the new gun. CZ USA, the importer, is very good to work with if you have problems.

Sorry to make this sound like a commercial--I don't work for any of these folks--but I thought someone might like to know.
 
Hogue only makes grips for the CZ-75 (and I have a set on mine). They don't make them for the CZ-97, despite my 'encouraging' emails to that effect every time they send me an email 'flyer'. Perhaps if enough of us requested it ??
 
I love my CZ-97b! It is very accurate, much more accurate than I am. The 97b is also a very overbuilt gun.

I agree it is overbuilt, but it is sure fun to shoot. My only complaint about the 97b is it does not like long loaded (within saami spec) ammo. Ball 230 grain reloads over 1.272 col will not feed reliably (1.275 col is max saami). Keep the reloads below 1.272, 100% reliablity. Also mine does not seem to like lead reloads,,,,, oh well.
 
Do you suppose that there is a different CIP standard for .45 ACP (if there is one at all)? I didn't see CZ as a member of SAAMI.
