The grip is a handfull, and the reach to the double action trigger is long, but the [C&L] single action trigger is "just right". No malfunctions and the accuracy will likely match a Sig 220. They are a bargain.
Th CZ-97b is very accurate, and also very overbuilt. The gun feels as strong as a tank. The slide cycles very smoothly on my 97b as well. The CZ-97b is probally the best buys for a 45 out there.
Great great gun. I bought mine on a whim (I liked to forward slide cuts and wanted another 45). It is very accurate, easy to shoot, heavy with little recoil. Trigger is great in both SA/DA mode but I wish it was not so long. Now that I have 6 mags for it, life is great.
Complaints are that it does not like long loaded ammo and non-adjustable sights. 1.272 is about the max you can get to cycle consistently.
Finally the finish on the glossy 97b is spectacular. It is a deep deep blue and flawlessly polished. I refuse to use mine anywhere I cannot protect this polish. By far the nicest polish of any of my guns.
Seen 'em, handled 'em, and stood there while a gunsmith friend stripped one down.
He kept saying the pistol was "overengineered" and "overbuilt" for "only" the .45acp, as if there was some other cartridge with a higher energy output the CZ people had in mind when they designed it.
Great features: monolith-type full-length, inverted rails; screw-in barrel bushing; choice of DA 1st shot or cocked-n-locked SA, with manual frame-mounted safety; dedicated 10-rd mag; loaded chamber indicator; firing pin safety; EXCELLENT ergonomics; all-steel CZ quality (it ain't no Witness).
But the best part is..., if you look real close, ... no get closer ... there, see it?
Inside every 45acp 97B there's a 10mm 97B trying to get out.
Guy, if you haven't already done so, do a search on 97b in the Semiauto forum and you'll get lots of info and opinions on it.
I'll give you my opinion without searching though. I like mine a lot. It is accurate, well balanced, and accepts most ammo available. As many have said, the 97B is large and the grip is a handful so I wouldn't consider it a prime candidate for concealed carry.
