CZ 97 10mm?

The only 10mm I've seen from CZ, was a reworked SP-01 done by the CZ Custom Shop. It may have been mentioned on this forum. I've seen some photos... just don't have any way of pulling anything up to add to this discussion.

I would think that the SP-01, the CZ-97, and the Tactical Sport are all guns that could be adapted to handle the round.

Found a reference and picture on the CZ Forum -- chris in va was partly right and I was partly right: a CZ-97 FRAME and an SP-01 slide.

The disadvantage of that approach is that the CZ-97 frame doesn't fit as many hands as the Witness 10mm frame. (I had a CZ-97 and it was a bit bigger in my hand than I cared for; I also had a Witness Sport Long Slide in .45/10mm and it was fine. There are now thinner grips for the 97 that help.

I suspect that the SP-01 frame can't be used because the grip doesn't have enough space to accommodate the 10mm round. The overall length of the .45 round is only slightly longer than the 10mm round -- 32.4mm vs. 32mm. (Wish CZ would make their larger-framed guns a bit narrower through the grip like the Tanfoglio models... They can all use the same mags!)

If you'd like to see the article and photos in question, do a Google search on "CZ SP-01 in 10mm..." I'd post a link but most of these sites ask us NOT to cross post.
