Anyone out thier can tell me about any experiences
with the CZ 83???
I just purchased one in Burbank, CA.
Thanks,
Espi:D

Hello. My experiences with the CZ83 in .380 have been positive. While the gun is big for caliber considering the very small 9mm pistols, it still has much to recommend it in my view.

From the box, I found the fixed sights to be very well regulated. I've firing mine less than a thousand rounds, but have tried various types of JHPs and ball with no malfunctions.

The gun allows for DA carry or cocked and locked.

Were I carrying a .380 for self-defense, it would likely be this gun.

Best.

I couldn't agree more with Mr. Camp's assessment. The CZ83 is a superb .380 pistol, robustly built, exceptionally reliable, and quite accurate. If you look around the internet, you can find pre-ban 13rd mags for it.

Enjoy your new acquisition.

Take care. Marko

How much did ya pay? the store I know of carry cz-83 has price tag for 350$$$
in Kali, anything over 10 rds is totally banned,
and now they are trying to more gun control chanting WTC,

A good friend of mine just bought one NIB, unfired for $210 from a local FFL dealer who had a bunch.

I agree with the other posts. I got to shoot it and it was very nice. Nice weight and balance. Very "snappy" compared to my SIG 226 9mm, but that is because the gun works differently.

A great gun.

Price I paid

I paid out the door, NIB, with shipping & Taxes: 340.00
I bought it @ a firing range in Burbank, CA.

Thanks for the posts!!!,
Espi

Hello, Espi. You got a fine gun. Caliber might be a little light, but despite the media, we do use our pistols for other than shooting at other people. I like things that work. CZ83s work.

Best.

AIM Surlus (www.aimsurplus.com) crrently has used ones with one hi-cap mag for $179. But don't let the fact that the pistols are used bother you. They're built like tanks. All the previous owner did was break it in and smooth out the trigger for you.

$179 is a steal.

Take care. Marko

I've had limited expereince with a CZ-83.

The gun range I like to frequent has one you can rent. My friend and I rented a PPK which jammed on the first round. We promptly returned it and asked them for the CZ. I loved this little pistol. It was nicer than the PPK because the bigger grips of the CZ fit my big mits better. It was pretty bloody accurate too. I was very impressed. If I were in the market for a .380 I'd buy a CZ-83. Quite a remarkable little pistol.

The CZ-83 is the best .380ACP chambered gun I've ever shot or handled.

It is durable, reliable and super accurate, not to mention very handy (as a service gun). Even I could hit things with boring regularity with it at 25-50 feet.

The only negative elements are:

1. High cap mags are hard to find.
2. The gun is fairly big as a 10-round .380ACP gun and do not conceal well due to its size and sharp protrusions.
3. Grips and other accessories are scarce.

I sold mine sometime ago and really regret doing so. If CZ would manufacture a proper 10-round, slim grip version for both .380ACP and .32ACP, I'd buy one in a heart bit!

Just finally fired mine...

I just got back from the range where I purchased the CZ 83 where they allowed me to put 100 rounds thru it. I still have to wait the 10 day BS so that I can take it home. In the mean time the Firing Line(Burbank, CA)is allowing me to shoot it in thier facility until the 10 days are up. Then it will really be mine.

Boy do I love this gun!!!
VERY accurate, smooth, no longer than the Walther PPK, just slightly wider.
I am very impressed with this firearm!!!
Take care,
Espi
