I have never hidden my attraction to CZ guns....I just wanted to throw this out and see the results.
I own and love an 83...I have owned and shot extensively quite a few other .380's. These are what I have shot/owned in the past.

Browning BDA.....Pretty much a fine handgun. Sold mine to pay for tuition. Mistake.......

Beretta 85-86.... Very big and nice...not up to BDA or CZ

Taurus....same as above but slightly more cost effective....

Sig 230/232....mechanically nice, but not built as heavily as others.
230 jammed a few times and is relatively expensive

Walther.....Shot 3 and didnt like them...have the scars to remind me.

FEG...smc/pmk/ap.....nice and cheap...d/a trigger sucks but as dependable as anything on the market.

AMT DAO Backup...this one was a keeper...but it wasnt mine...so I couldnt keep it :D GREAT trigger and very dependable.

My FAV is my current CZ....does everything well.
Whats your take on your fav?

Thanks and Shoot well.

Hello. While large for caliber considering the little nines out now, I find the CZ83 to be a reliable, accurate handgun that's well built and very worth the money asked for it.

Of the .380s out there, it remains my first choice.

Best.

I just got one for Christmas. Great gun. Shoots very well. Wasn't looking for a mouse gun, so I'm ok with its size. Feels real nice in my hand and the price was sure right!

Have only owned an FEG, but shot most of the others. I agree with your assessment. The CZ-83 is the best of the class.

Its only downside is its not as easy to conceal as some of the other .380's.

But its size makes for great ergonomics and accuracy and capacity.

The CZ83 is a nice handgun. Fantastic trigger pull, although as my first CZ the single action pull was somewhat strange to me. It's almost like a short action DA I guess; the SA pull is long.

I bought mine from a lot of used Israeli police guns. Nice, easy recoiling pistol, & fun to shoot. I'm glad I decided to buy mine!

BUT: it is a BIG gun for a .380ACP. While it's not a rule I live by, my carry philosophy does give consideration to "the biggest bullet in the smallest package" theory. As a range gun I think it has merit; certainly everyone should carry what they choose but there are much smaller guns for the caliber, or larger calibers in the same size package.

83

I have had mine for a few months now. I like it, I carry it, and I shoot it as often as I can. What I really like is the 12rd mag that is really a 13rd mag, and one more makes 14. A 14rd 380, I like that.

The 12 rnd capacity is for the Makarov round..its a bigger shell so you can put more little .380's in them...I like that also..I have 2
Hi Cap mags.....very nice. Shoot wll

well, I have a mak, CZ83, and beretta 85 and 84. ALL ARE VERY NICE, and I like to shoot them all. But for accuracy and trigger pull the beretta's beat the others, it's close, but this is with the 4 I own. (And no, I am not parting with any of them!!)
