These are the two pistols i am looking at? What do ya'll know about these weapons? Which is better? Also, how is the new action on the 8040, by that i mean the twisting of the barrel? Is it make a difference or is it just another part that can go bad? Your thoughts are most helpful guys, considering ya'll know a lot more than i. :)

I cannot offer an opinion on the Beretta, have not handled or shot one, but I do own a CZ 75B and I find it a very nice weapon.
Mine is totally reliable and accurate, cost less than $400.
Hard to beat the CZ for a good wedding of economy and functionality.

CZ75BD

Outstanding pistol. Very very very accurate and easy to shoot. Also durable finish (polymer over parkerized metal) and easy to clean. Designed for combat forces. Mine is 99.9% hiccup free. I only own one Beretta and it's a .22, but I would stick with my CZ75BD if given the choice. Good trigger too. DA or SA.

I think in any CZ or... question I'd have to say go with the CZ, regardless of the second gun in the question. If you want something else after you have the CZ fine, but get a CZ!

I did a lot of research here and at the CZ forum before I got mine and they have a great reputation. I've only had mine for a month but I'd say the reputation is more than deserved.

It is very reliable- I have only had one minor hiccup in 1300 rounds, and that was when I let the oil on the rails go completely dry. It is my most accurate gun. It is highly durable, it was designed as a military gun so it was made to take a beating. The exterior fit and finish is incredible, the interior fit and finish is good. I find that it fits my hands very well. Some 9mm models are still available from the factory with high-cap mags (the BD Police and the Mil). Also, the factory made up a ton of 9mm high-caps just before the ban so there are plenty on the market and at good prices (you can still order them from the factory for $48 and some sources are less). Both the "polymer" finish and the nickel finish are highly durable finishes. In my opinion the gun equals SIG for quality and workmanship. You get all that for a gun that costs the same as (or less than) a Ruger or Taurus auto.

Definately go "CZ". I have a CZ75B that is unnaturally accurate and realiable - never had any FTFs or malfunctions of any type. A lot of pistol for the money.

I have to go with the CZ too.I had a 92F before the CZ which I sold as soon as I got the CZ.
The difference I noticed most was in the ergonomics. The CZ has a better point and balance, and seems to fit naturally in my hand. The Beretta felt awkward and heavy to me.
CZ's are factory tested and,if necessary, hand tuned before they go for sale (or they were 5 years ago).I also like the finish which is rustproof and trouble free.
Both are pretty much as accurate as service auto's can be and there is nothing wrong with the Beretta finish either.

I'm with the rest of the gang; I too would go with the CZ.
Very dependable, highly accurate, and it comes with good
quality control. Can't offer an opinion on the Beretta 8040,
but had a 92FS that was flawless, also. The thing I didn't
like about the Beretta was it's aluminum frame. Bump it
slightly and you have a nice, bright spot. I've never had
that problem with my Sig's with aluminum frame's; cuz
I'm damn careful with them.  :) :D I believe
the CZ frame's will hold up equally as well, given a little
TLC.
