CZ 75B with night sights

Hello all,

I just purchased a CZ 75B with night sights from J&G. I believe the N.S.'s are Meprolights. Anyway the pistol seems to shoot very accurately, just not precisely to the POA. It is shooting about 3 inches high from about 12 yards. How can I go about getting the gun to shoot POA?

Do I send it in to CZ-USA to see if they can put a taller front night sight post in? A lower rear sight? Call meprolight? Just grab my ankles and be screwed? Please give me your advice! Thanks.

Were the sights installed at the factory or by J&G. If factory I would send it back. Other options: Change height of front or rear sights. Try a liter weight bullet (I find liter bullets tend to shoot lower than heavier weights). Last resort have smith check barrel to slide fitting. If it's a 9mm and you want to test the barrel I will be glad to lend you mine(barrel)for a short time. Or tell the smith its shooting high and perhaps he can do some minor fitting of barrel/slide to correct. One other option is to experiment with pistol cycle times by trying different recoil spring rates. Sometimes this will change cycle times which in turn will vary bullet from barrel exit time during recoil point causing a bullet impact to raise or lower.

Thanks for the great suggestions. Among the ammo fodder was some 115 gr. Wolf which seems to be faster than most factory standard pressure ammo. That shot equally high. I have a few varying tension springs laying around. What is the factory spring weight? By the way, Tom, what city do you live in? I'd hate to have you go through all the trouble for a short barrel swap if you don't live in Arizona. BTW, is the "96" on the outside of the extractor the year the gun was made? Anyone have a phone # for CZ-USA? Thanks again.

Factory spring weight is 14lbs. CZ-USA service number is 800-955-4486. They are on central time. Wolff Springs carries spring weights for CZ from 8 to 22lbs. I live in Georgia but I will be glad to send you my barrel for test. Email Tom.E.Black@sgcna.com
