Ambi-safety, slide stop and firing pin block seem to be the only differences, YES/NO?!? I am considering one of these pistols, but will defer until I know the real differences between the two. I tend to lean toward the 75b, but what do I know at this point!

Thanks for any help...Slugo

only difference between 75B and 85B are the right side control levers: slide release, trigger safety.

85B has them, 75B does not. The 85B is the gun for lefties.

There are other models in the 75 series that are not the same as 75B, as well as others in the 85 series that are not the 85B.

Model 85B does not have drop free mags. It is same as 75B. The 85 Combat model has drop free, or you can replace the spring in the 75B and 85B to make them drop free.

Take a look at the 85 Combat.

Just a little nicer fit and finish and has adjustable sights.

I have a combat in satin nickel, it is really nice looking and it is the most accurate pistol I have ever shot.

First shot at 25 feet hit the bullseye dead center.

85 Combat

The 85 Combat also has a somewhat nicer trigger pull, due to the fact that it does NOT have the firing pin block (hence, no "B" in its model designation.)

(I've got one and I like it.)

The CZ 75B in .40 caliber has the ambidexterous safety and is drop-free without any modification at all.
