Here's the straight poop with photos for those of you that were interested in seeing what was causing my CZ 75B "Mil" FTE problems.
I used a 1/16" steel punch to drive the extractor pin out the bottom of the slide and then I simply pulled the original extractor and spring out. Turns out there was a difference in the original extractor and the replacement piece. See pic #1, pic #2, pic #3, pic #4, and pic #5 for different angles showing the difference.
My initial plan was to only install the extractor if there was a significant difference between them but once I put the springs side by side for a photo and realized that the new spring was approximately one full coil width taller (as seen in pic #6) and apparently stronger than the old one I just couldn't see putting the original back in and risking having to pull it apart again to put in the spring if the new extractor alone didn't cure the problem. I also noticed that the original spring seemed to be collapsed to one side on one end. This is quite apparent in pic #7.
After installing the new pieces I went to the range with 100 rounds of Winchester "white box" 115gr FMJ to try it out. I'm happy to report that I have finally fired a full box of ammo without an FTE! I'll still keep an eye on it for the next few hundred rounds to make sure it doesn't bobble again but after seeing the differences in both the extractor and spring I suspect that I now have a %100 reliable CZ.
