CZ-75B - Blued or Polymer?

I'm getting ready to order a CZ-75B from J&G. I noticed that they have some "military contract" ones with a polymer finish, night sights, and both a 15 round & 10 round mag. These are less expense than the standard blued ones, which come with regular sights, and only 1 10 round mag. The polymer ones seem to be a much better value, and I happen to prefer polymer over blued.

Does anyone have any experience with these "military contract" CZs? Are they as good as the regular models? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

The "Military" model is the standard CZ75b. I think it is the best value. The finish is more weather resist and the 15 rder is nice. The night site arent reallly night sites they are ligh reactive. I have a Compact model PCR and it has became my primary gun

These are military contract overruns. Excellent guns, the poly finish is great.

cobraman, they are tritium night sights (lamps), not light reactive (phosphorus dot). The standard models come with light reactive, you must order tritium as an option.

I recently picked up the military contract overun 75B and must say it's polymer finish seems durable and looks nice IMO. Fit and finish are the same as my other non-military CZ75B I bought earlier. Coming with one 15 round magazine and a 10 rounder is a plus.

Only thing I disliked about the military version was the thumbrest plastic grips they come with. I replaced them with the ones that came on my 40 S&W CZ75B that has a palm swell but no thumbrest. I've ordered Hogue checkered wooden grips for the .40 CZ.

I highly recommend the CZ's as they are proving to be more than what you pay for which is rare these days. Even though the sights aren't true tritium type night sights, I think for an extra $60 you can have tritiums fitted.

Another voice here for the polymer finish military. The real selling point inmy decision came from a CZ factory reps demo piece. It had seen hard use for a year as a demo gun and the only smudge on the finish was very minor. My own, with only a few hundred rounds, shows zero makrs so far.

Poly finish seems to be real good deal.
The only problem - if scretched, it's very difficult to fix. But it does provide better
protection against chemicals, moisture, etc.

Another "yes" vote for the CZ-75B Mil. I got mine a few months ago and it`s become one of my favorites. In fact it`s sitting next to me on my computer desk as I type this! Fit, finish, reliability and accuracy are all very good. The thumb rest grips were cheesy and quite thick. I replaced them with checkered cocobolo ones from Hogue, now it feels REALLY GOOD and it`s slimmer through the grip than a 1911 with standard checkered wood grips! The sights on mine are "glow-n-the dark" like the hands of a watch. I`ve heard that the J&G Mils with tritium sights are so cheap because the rear sights are a little too tall and make the guns shoot a few inches high. I am NOT SURE of this,it`s just what I`ve heard. The finish is holding up very well so far after about 700rds. and occasional carry use. I`d recomend it to anyone. Marcus

The Polymer it is! I'll order it later today, as long as I'm sure my local township isn't playing games with me. You see, in Jersey, we need a handgun purchase permit for EACH purchase. Normally, I pickup a application at the front desk, turn it in, and have my permit in 1 to 2 weeks. Many other townships make their residents wait anywhere from a month to a year to acquire a permit. I went to pickup an application yesterday, and was told that the only time I could get one was Wednesday nights between 7 & 9. I show up at 7PM, and the place was deserted, except for another guy that was told weeks ago that this was the only time he could pickup his FID card. After about a half hour, an officer shows up and asks what we want. We explain why we are there, and he tells us that we have to come back during the day. Seems that the Sgt. that usually issues my permits is no longer with the dept. I sure hope my local "gun friendly" PD, hasn't locked step with the surrounding communities, and become openly "anti". I guess I'll find out today.

I gotta tell you guys, if I lived in a state like Hawaii or New Jersey or Mass, I damn sure would be a criminal. I'm sorry, but when the state makes undue requirements on me, makes me jump through unreasonable hoops and denies me my right to protect my family for months, I'm going to get a gun, wether it's through a black-market dealer or a personal transfer in another state. That is complete BS.
