CZ 75 trigger reach

I like my CZ 83, probably the worlds best .380 handgun. I would like a CZ 75 but my finger is too short to reach the trigger properly, is the SA 75 trigger a shorter reach in the C&L mode? [than the DA/SA CZ 75]

Yes, quite a bit, and you don't need to buy the SA model. You can buy the regular model and use it only in SA (as do I). In fact, you'd probably be best off with the 75B Compact.

The trigger stayed in a full foward position when in the SA mode, and had a long trigger takeup before the SA trigger release came into play. The long take-up slack was in place of the "double action" portion of the trigger movement. I was hoping that the trigger would stay in the rear position in the trigger guard, like the CZ 83 does when C&L. I was just wondering if the CZ 75 SA has the same long reach as the C&L CZ 75 DA/SA .

??? That ain't right. Cocking the hammer on a CZ-75b should move the trigger to the rear about three-quarters of the way. If your trigger stays in the forward position when the gun is cocked, something is wrong with the gun.

Agreed. With my 85B (identical to the 75B, but with ambi controls) cocking the hammer moves the trigger about 3/4 of the way to the rear. I have somewhat small hands myself, and in DA mode the gun fits me ok, but I can only get the tip of my finger on the trigger. Luckily the 75/85 has a delightful silky-smooth double action trigger pull so it's not a major problem for me. In SA mode the gun fits me like a glove. Very nice pistols :)

I agree. If the trigger doesn't move to the rear in SA mode, then you have a problem with the gun. I have the 85 Combat. The DA pull is a tad long but I can reach it. The SA pull is very nice. Much like my Browning.
