CZ 75 short rail - 1978

I just bought a pair of CZ 75 and they arrived today. Found them on the classified of a local website, private seller. I initially wanted to buy only one, but we then agreed a deal for the pair

This one was built in 1978, one of 6’047 produced that year.

It looks absolutely pristine, not a scratch, no visible wear, although I did not field strip it yet.

That's a good find. Looks like it has a real blued finish too, not that painted on stuff that most 75B's had.

That's the best early 75 I.ve ever seen and to find one in that condition, with the original paperwork, is rare indeed. Great find!

Very nice early CZ75. I have a pre B CZ75 that was made in 1986 and still shows traces of black paint in some of the recesses over a grey parkerized finish.

Just out of curiosity, does anyone know when they switched from the blued finish like is on the OP's gun to the paint over parkerizing finish?

My 1986 pre-B has the paint (enamel) over bare metal.

That is beautiful. I have a pre-B and a CZ-85 Combat that are both blued. My pre-B isn't as nice as yours and doesn't have the box or matching mags. They are wonderful guns. I don't think anything fits my hand better than my 85 Combat. The later rubber grips are the best in my opinion. Nice palm swell fits the hand just right. If you have two, make sure to shoot at least one of them! You won't regret it.

Thank you

I’ve shot both short rails now
