Cz 75 Mag Problems?

I just picked up my first CZ (CZ 75 D Compact PCR) this weekend. I like everything about the gun except I seem to be having a problem loading the mags. In both of the ones that came with the gun, I can only fit eight (8) shells in. I have tried several times on both of them; same problem. These are suppose to be 10 rd capacity.

Anyone else have this problem. How to fix or what to do different.

You are not alone. CZ mag springs are VERY heavy. Load them with 8 if thats all you can put in and leave them for a couple of days. Then go 9 and then 10. The spring will get a little softer
but not much....my CZ's make my thumb hurt after an afternoon
at the range. Use a Mag Loader......
Its very normal....shoot well

All my CZs came with a mag loader. If yours was NIB and didn't you might want to email CZ-USA for one. One of my mag loaders was broken and I emailed CZ-USA to see if I could get another one. They sent me a new one priority mail within a few days (no charge). Now that's excellent customer service.

I can only load up to 8 rounds of .40 in my six CZ factory made magz. If I use the plastic feeder and force the hell out the spring, I'll manage to load 10 rounds, but it takes work. I only load 8 and time will fix the rest. Same story with mec-gar magz for my CZ 9mm, it should take 15 but 12-13 is my max so far. CZ mag have a very strong spring.

No problems here. Actualy that is not quite true. My 75B came with one 10 and one 15. The 15 never gave me any troubles BUT after a few cleanings the 10 started taking only 8 and making noise when more then 4 rounds were loaded. CZ send me a replacement which also developed this problem after a while. Note that I clean my mags every 200 rounds or so. At this point I saw the light and relized that I am proabably reassembling them wrong when I clean them. Taking them down and putting them together solved the problems for me, though it may take a few tries. I do keep track of which way the spring goes (look at the spring its longer on one side then the other) so that is not the problem. I am not yet sure I understand why this happens, but try taking them apart and putting them back together. It might work for you.

I have 3 standard "15" round mags for my 75B. Strangely I have always thought the springs on all three seem weak. Most of my shooting experience is with the 1911 though so I don't really have much to compare them to.

The only CZ mag trouble I have is with that damn, Clintoonian version. The only reason I haven't trashed it is so I can show My Grandkids" when I get me some" what an idiot ol'slick is / was.:D

Thanks for the advice Mr. Larson. Filling the mag incrementally every day has helped. I am at full capacity now.
