CZ-75 Impressions

My new CZ-75 D PCR ate everything I fed it right out of the box: Federal Hi-Shoks & Hydra-Shoks, PMC roundball, and Winchester JHPs. Scores of each. Not a single stoppage. Not one.

Feels good when I'm holding it, too. Melts right into the palm of my hand. And boy does it come up ever so naturally. I could swear the sights almost line up by themselves.

As far as accuracy, you be the judge. I put up five letter-size sheets of bond paper at ten yards on the range. Each had a 3X6 inch likeness of Bin Laden smack in the middle. I emptied the gun at a rate of ten rounds per sheet/reload. All ten of them hit the sheet with an average of four hits per ugly. I would have liked every round to hit the bas**** in the "A" (as in alpha zone), but in his latest book, expert John Farnam says that hitting a target the size of my sheets at SEVEN yards quickly and consistently is considered excellent marksmanship. What can I say. I'm all giddy.

The price I paid for this gun was not a jaw-dropper either. $460 for the pistol, two mags, case, docs, and cleaning tools. I wonder if the Czechs really know their worth. As far as I'm concerned, they could charge a hell of a lot more for their product---Oops! I didn't say that!

I picked up the CZ75B on the cheap at Bachman Pawn and Guns in Dallas. I actually lost money on the deal since I traded in a Smith 3953 that I COULD NOT STAND TO SHOOT since it was inaccurate with a horrible muzzle crown and it kicked like a mule.

The evening I got it, I took it to the range and a Seven yards, I kid you not, I could not measure the groups because they were all one big hole. At 15 yards, I was under two inches on average with a couple of groups in the 1.5" range.

Hi Caps are $35-$45 bucks depending on where you go and they are still available. The thing that has hurt the CZ until the D models came out was the fact that there was no Bobbit Switch (De-Cocker :D ). I would be willing to be t you might see some CZ D Models in .40 Cal start to show up in SWAT units due to the excellent accuracy, durability and handling.

ya did good man! Your range report is typical of the CZ-75B.
The only trouble I have with mine keeping it loaded up.
It seems like I go through a lot of ammo when I take it to the range.

;) That thar is one fine gun ya got there man!

I think the American Gun makers should stand up and take note.
A fine pistol can be made at an affordable price.

Funny thing, I found that first 300 round range trip seemed like it took only a few minutes. Hmm? Must be those STANDARD 15 ROUND MAGS.

The CZ75B allows the 9mm to be what it was always designed for------------a high capacity weapon. Too bad the sap suckers in Washington DC thought otherwise.

Here Here....I know what you all mean. I have a couple of CZ's
My baby 83 and my Compact..the compact was what I consider a
rarity amonst the rest..It had to work some bugs out of it...but all is well with her now. I shoot my dads 52 as often as possible..just for the fun gun factor. I love these guns. I will continue my CZ quest as time, oppurtunity and money allow.
The best part of that statement is money....for what you get, you
dont pay alot.

Shoot well

SSSHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!! Quiet guys! CZ might hear ya and raise their prices before I can buy a few more! :p :D Marcus

I have a EAA Witness, accurate, feeds reliably, only problem I encountered was positioning of the safety, I'm thinking of selling it and getting a DAO CZ.

IMHO (and I've owned both) CZ makes a higher quality product overall than EAA/Tanfoglio does. Better finish and generally better accuracy.

My CZ-75B is my favorite 9mm this side of a HK P7M8.

CZ makes the best auto in the world for the money. I love my CZ-85 because it's easy to shoot straight and never needs fixing. BTW: I shoot slow fire at 17 yards (two hands) at a 2.25" black ring. When I'm not doing anything stupid, at least 90% of the hits are in or touching the black. The gun is plenty accurate.

75.....

Well, I also have a CZ75 (pre B model, made in 1986). Went to the range with 50 115 fmj rounds and 50 Win 127 plus P plus ammo. This 75 out shot my SIG 226 and handling was anatomically perfect! It ate plus P plus ammo like candy! Also, you can get a really high grip on the 75.
CZ75s are pistols for those who know their craft... I was told by a old SF SGM here in Lewis that it was a favorite among the Virginia Boys for Black Ops. And I forgot, the pre Bs are sexy and classy... Just like some of those Czeck women ;)
