CZ 75 Compact Questions

I posted a question a week or two ago asking for suggestions regarding a high-capacity 9mm. I appreciate all the responses. Several suggested the CZ75. I handled a CZ75 Compact model today and was favorably impressed. It seemed very well designed and made. Nice trigger. And it is "on sale" for a little under $400. This is supposed to be $100 off the regular price. So, my questions:

Is this a good price?

Are high capacity mags readily available for the compact version (it looks like the compact uses shorter mags than the standard version)?

The shop had both a blue and a nickel-looking finish for the same price (the salesman told me it was stainless steel, but I'm sure it wasn't). Which would be more durable? I read in a previous post that they have a "polymer finish" that is very durable-this may have been what I'm calling "blue." Recommendations?

Thanks.

Doug, I think with some elbow grease & help from TFL members, you should be able to do a way better deal than a "little under $400."
The shiny gun was NICKLE plated.
CZ's also came out in an attractive Duo Tone - Black slide/Nickle frame.
Not too sure if the Compact did though....

I purchased a CZ75B for $329. and a CZ97B for $449. both polymer finish at my local gun dealer. Magazine can be gotten from CZ-USA.

I'm glad you used your chance to handle CZ.
Polymer finish looks interesting, and
very rust resistant. I would go with
"black" gun. You can probably knock a few
bucks off "less than $400", but I doubt
that NIB will go for less than $350.
Prices for these CZs are goung up nowdays.

In any case, in order to really appreciate
qualities of this great pistol you just
got to handle HK USP 9 first, and then
take CZ-75...and you hand and brain will
immediately inform your heart that you
want CZ-75, period. Happened to me, although
I do have some respect for HK.

CZ-75B likes realitively hot anmmo, I found
FIOCCHI and GECO to be just about perfect
ammo for this pistol. Whatever parts (magazines, etc.) you need, you can get it
direct from CZ-USA. Do not buy cheaper
aftermarket CZ-75 magazines, those are not
good.

I believe the hi-cap magazine for the CZ75 Compact is a 13 rounder. If you have a buddy going to Germany, ask them to stop by one of the many Frankonia Jagd stores. Cost is 69 marks (about $42).

Just found out the Kadet 22 conversion kit does fit on the CZ75 compact.
