If they made it. I would own one. On cz's (in czech, not czusa)
website they mention a .40 compact but hasnt been available
in the US. The closest thing you can get now is a 9mm comp. or
a cz100 in a .40. Compared the 100 with my comp. for size...almost identical in height and length and the 100 is alot
lighter. Good luck on your quest and shoot well.
There are supposed to be 2 released soon. One is just a 75B Compact in .40. The other (the one I want bad!) is the 75B Compact Carry or "Melt". It`s a .40 Compact that`s been fully melted and has an original 75 style round trigger guard as well as PCR sights and some other little things. I wish they`d hurry up with that one! Marcus
Yes, it does exist, original plans were to release this gun in the USA some time in 2002, I understand that has changed, and according to CZ-USA it won't be; further more, some compacts (CZ83 in .32 and Makarov) will be discontinued ASAP.
They displayed this one, a BD (decocker) model and a Compact "Carry" which has a sweet melt job and low profile sites chambered for 40.S&W at the last Shot Show. They were even displayed on their website (Links were removed from the main CZ website but the pages are still there ).
BUT... due to a recent contract with the Czech police and military for a sizeable order of their 9mm PCR Compact, they are NOT releasing them in 2002 and there has been no definite word on when and if they will be released in the forseeable future.
