CZ-75 and CZ-100 - what should I expect to pay new?

I'm considering purchase of the following models in 9mm:

CZ 75B
CZ 75BD "Compact Carry"
CZ 100

http://www.czusa.com/pro/prod_a.html

I've never seen a CZ 100 before, but it looks promising... if the quality is OK. Nice light weight (1.5LBS) compared to the 75B's 2.2lbs.

Can anyone tell me what I should expect to pay for these guns, new?

I just bought a NIB Military CZ 75b for $319.95 +tax. It was also the only one they had and, the lowest price I've seen since I started looking.

More typically, the prices have been $339-$359 for the military models. The new commercial model seems to be going for $369-$389 for the blacks, $429-$449 for the two tones. At least those are the prices here in the DFW area at the shows and stores. I know, I'd been looking.

The military model, (w/ the 15rd and 10rd mags), availability seems to be drying up lately. The commercial models, and their higher prices seem to what's in the store and at the shows these days. :(

Do a search on the cz 100 triggers. That is the one thing you will hear over and over is how the trigger isn't very good on them. I bought my cz75b military about a year ago for $320. I am extremely happy with it. I think they are going for about $380 around so cal right now. Mark

Nix CZ100

Forget the CZ100, the trigger is really bad because it's very long and mushy.

Around here CZ75B Mil model runs for $399. Haven't seen any other models.

Or you could hold out for the CZ110, which CZ-USA says should be Summer '02.

As for the CZ100 trigger, I found it to be EXTREMELY smooth and crisp, but with a pull of about 2 feet long. If it had that for a first shot, but with a shorter reset (CZ110) then I'd be a happy camper.

As for the price, the 100's run around $340ish.

Onslaught seems to be the only one to have a CZ-100. Like everyone else, I have heard bad things about the trigger.

I really like my 75B. It's about as good a value as you will find out there today in a current production gun.

Good luck.

Von - You know how somebody tries something, and tells a friend they didn't like it, and so on and so on, till finally the person saying "the trigger is mushy and they suck" has never touched one?

Well, I've handled quite a few pistols in my life, and the CZ-100 trigger is in NO way "mushy". It's got quite a decent feel, breaks clean, etc.

Now, having said THAT, let me add... the CZ-100 trigger pull is a MILE LONG! I don't like that about it. It starts waaay toward the front, and breaks RIGHT near the very back. Reset of course is WAAY back in the other direction.

So I'm not saying that everyone who says bad things about the CZ100 trigger is WRONG, but I doubt anyone who says it's MUSHY has ever handled one. So I'm not arguing that it doesn't suck, only arguing as to WHY it sucks ;)

Some people (avid CZ'ers over on the CZforum) have said that the double action pull of the CZ100 is very much like the double action pull of their CZ75's, but the big difference is the short reset of the 75, compared to the vacation your finger has to take to reset the 100.

If the CZ110 ever does make it to this country, the trigger setup should be quite nice. It's reportedly similar to the HK 2000 trigger, where second shot reset is short like SA, but if you release the trigger, the striker returns to DA mode.

I did try it, and it sucks

I for one did try a CZ100, and the trigger does suck. I never buy any firearms without trying one. Based on the sample that I tried I'd never waste my money on one. CZ75 are something different. Just because a company makes one good product doesn't everything that has its name is good. I like Fords, but way in heck I'm telling someone to get a Pinto. :p

I AM NOT SAYING IT DOESN'T SUCK!!!!

Anyway Tecolote, did you find the trigger "mushy" too? Or was it just that it took you an hour and a half to get it to go click?

Remember, ALL I'm disagreeing with is WHY the trigger sucks. Somebody may WANT a really long, light trigger pull.

Too bad

I really, really wanted to like the CZ100. It looks sharp and it feels even better. How do you define mushy? The trigger felt like a cross between a long DA and a Glock, there was some resistance but not much, and it was long. To bad CZ can't come out with a drop in fix. :(

like i have said in the past the CZ100 trigger is like pulling my 300lb mother in law on blacktop covered in dull sandpaper

mushy! i think not

double taps! i think not
