Cz 70

Can anybody tell me about the .32 cz70 ?

There is a reatailer locally selling these for about $100.

It is so hard to pass up an inexpensive gun to add to the safe and I've read some good things about the larger cal CZs.

Appreciate your feedback

I got one a couple of months ago, and have run maybe 175 rounds through it.

I like it, but it's got some quirks that can make it hard to love.

1. Trigger pull is VERY heavy. Probably approaching 20 pounds double action. Single action is pretty good, though.

2. Sights are non existent. A tiny front sight with a tiny U-notch. But, it's still easy to get solid hits with it.

3. Rough finish, which rusts very easily.

4. Grip shape isn't very comfortable.

5. Mag release button is hard to operate without either radically shifting your grip or using the off-side hand.

6. Decocking/safety lever is very stiff.

7. Serrations on the trigger are VERY agressive and hard on the finger. Easily taken care of with a grinder or even some emery paper to knock the edges off.

But, you want to know what?

Even with those foibles, I'd STILL recommend buying one of these.

Why?

They're cheap, mind has been very reliable so far, and I think with a little work, smoothing, etc., they would be far nicer. A good cleaning and lubrication also helps quite a bit.

I've got to figure out how the thing will feed hollow points, though, as right now all of my shooting has been with FMJ.

I agree with all the aforementioned shortcomings of the model. Even so, I have two CZ70's. The steel frame will surely never wear out, the price is right, and I think they are great looking.

The ammunition preferences seem to vary for individual pistols. One of mine is NIB, so I'm not shooting it. The other one, however, does not like FMJ. It often fails to feed them, leaving the slide stuck halfway closed with a round angled up in the chamber. Fiocchi flat-nosed, semi-jacketed hollowpoints feed perfectly, on the other hand.
