Cz 550 varmint 22-250!!!Does anyone know if these rifles are any good I've never heard of them before I'm looking for a reliable 22-250 and this is what I have been hearing about!
they make an excellent rifle I own three of them, none are 22-250. They have a very nice single set trigger and mauser controlled feed action. A lot of rifle for the money.
I have that rifle in 308 caliber with a walnut stock and other than custom actioned rifles, it is the best rifle I ever owned in 40+ years of shooting. I think you will be happy with it.
Nice 10 round magazines available for it as well. No cheesy coil springs either, but those super nice, high quality, fan-fold springs to lift the machined, not stamped, followers. And rubber sleeves around the magazine to make gripping an easy proposition, without smudging the deeply blued finish.
It is "old world" craftsmanship combined with modern steels and production methods. These are remarkable rifles. Hope you like yours as much as I have liked mine.
CZ 550s are essentially a square bridge 98 Mauser derivative. That means they have all the advantages of a Mauser and all the disadvantages of a Mauser.
Great rifles; I own several. But for varminting, I prefer the 527.
