CZ 527 magazine Question?
I have been thinking about getting a CZ 527 in 7.62x39. After doing many searches for reviews I notice most seem to love them with one exception...magazine issues. Was wondering if this is a problem CZ has addressed or have recent guns still having problems with feeding issues? Don't really want to invest $650 in a rifle I will have to fiddle with the magazine to get to work. Thanks for any info.

Some people just don't like a magazine that is in front of the trigger and not flush with the stock. Also they don't like the fact you can't just snap rounds down into the magazine but have to push them in from front to rear. Me--I don't worry about it!! It's not a battle rifle!! My 527 in x39 has never had a magazine issue!! My only issue is that the rifle is so beautiful I would hate to take it to the woods and scratch it!!!!! Did I mention accurate? Even with cheap surplus!! Eats every brand of x39 I've fed it without a problem!:D

No magazine issues with mine. You have to remember this is a mini Mauser action, controlled round feed. So unlike a savage or Remington that is push feed, it doesn't just strip the round from the mag and push it into the chamber while snapping the extractor over the rim of the case. It actually grabs the rim of the case as it comes out of the magazine so the cycling is a little different feeling than what many may be used to and could be the "magazine" issue people are complaining about?

I have one that must be 3 years old with no issues. My buddy has a newer one that had issues with one magazine, and the problem was taken care of by their gunsmith.

amvet,
Bought mine after fondling one at the NRA show in Nashville. Only have the factory magazine that came with it. :)

Every single CZ product I've bought the past 12 years (except my P01) has needed some 'tweaking' to some degree.

The two magazines that came with my x39 would make the rounds jack up at a 30 degree angle. I did some experimenting and discovered a machining burr on the inside, and a few seconds with a file solved it.

My 2015 223 carbine had a difficult bolt throw, even after a few hundred cycled. Someone on the CZ board suggested the feed lips were too far apart, and some judicious plier useage mostly solved that problem too.

On a side note I'm surprised the new one only came with one magazine.
