CZ-52 pistol

Cleaned up the receiver, restored it to when it left the factory.

Parkerized the pistol.

Putting it together.

Very nice, sir. Interesting pistol, couldn't warm up to it myself, but sounds like the Thunder from Above on an indoor range. :) CzechpointUSA just sold out of them again.

I use to have one. I liked it, but the trigger sucked bad, mine was probably 18lbs. Also the sights were a joke (for me), I literally had to aim about a foot high with the front sight, but once I figured I had to raise the front sight way above the rears, I could drill a water bottle at 25yds every time. Never jammed, decocker worked. I now have a tokarev

Mine was the same way. Shot 2' low at 15 yards. The sharp edges didn't sit well with me so I sold it, but I wouldn't mind having a Tokarev.

I've been shooting this firearm often, and it's the cat's meow!:D

The trigger is slicker than snot, east to point and shoot! I've really outdone myself.;)

You're wise to check it, some will drop the hammer but won't safe the gun. Not so good to have a second trigger disguised as a safety.

Even though you have one that works, I would still lower the hammer manually when using the decock lever--as a safety precaution and to prevent wear/peening on the firing pin safety.

Wow!... That's an impressive detailed presentation you've put together.

I kinda miss my 52... Sold a beauty about a year ago when I was hard up for cash... boo hoo.

I always thought that was part of the charm of it. :)

The divide between CZ 52 and Tokarev fans seems even more bitter than the S&W-Ruger battle, but I like both my 52s and my Toks.

Both mine have really nice triggers. Not at all heavy. Both shoot as good as any gun I've ever owned.
My Chinese Tokarev, on the other hand, was the worst pistol I ever owned.
Different strokes for different folks, I guess.
It's an excellent cartridge, I'd say we all could mostly agree.

My Chinese Tokarev, on the other hand, was the worst pistol I ever owned.

Unlike the Norinco 1911, I've read a lot of disparaging remarks about their Tokarev.

My Polish Toks are sweet pistols.

With my love for the cartridge and surplus guns, I should get a non-Chinese Tokarev sometime. Maybe one day when I also get around to getting a makarov.;)

I'm pleased with everything, the trigger pull is stoned where it is just smooth.....
The ammo I fire is brand new, so I don't worry about a problem with bad ammo.
The decocker works excellent, I have made 100% that it is properly aligned, and I am careful about using the decocker.

This is a really great weapon, it was a work horse, and it worked flawlessly.

I was glad to see mine go, and even happier to see the Tok that replaced it.

Well, that just saved me from some typing. I'll say mostly ditto to the above.
I loved the looks of my Cz52 and of course the 7.62x25 cartridge, but that was about it. I tried my best but could not like it enough to keep it.
It was replaced by a Yugoslavian M57 and I was so impressed by the first M57 that I purchased another soon after. For me, the differences in ergonomics where night and day, as was the trigger (and thus, the accuracy).
I also found my Cz52 a PITA to field strip for cleaning when compared to the Tok.

I will say though that my Cz52 was absolutely reliable (as are both my M57s) and just so neat looking.
