Cz 40

Getting an itch for another toy. Been toying around with the idea of buying another 9mm (I have a Ruger P89 and a CZ 100). Might be the collection of the nonglamorous , "affordable" guns. I love my 89. It shoots well and haven't had a problem with it. The CZ 100 has been adopted by my wife. Don't know how she has come to get used to the trigger , but she shoots it well and again haven't had any problem with it. That being said ...I 've been inclined to look at Ruger and CZ for my next purchase. Thought about the P95 as an affordable, carryable , reliable, and acccurate piece (my friend has one).
But the CZ 40 has gotten my attention. Positive press in the rags. 1911 style grip (something I'm not used to ..but could love). THe prices listed in Gunbroker.com have also caught my attention ( they're listed @~300bucks without reserve). Does anyone have any experiences with this gun?? Anybody know what the going price for one is?? Anyone wanna sway me back to Ruger products??? ANy help would be greatly appreciated!!

I've got one, and its a nice gun. And a bargain at the price.

But I've got some other CZs, and really like them better. (I had a CZ-75B military, and now have a CZ-85 Combat. That last one is a class gun!)

Nothing wrong with the CZ-40B, but the trigger is a bit heavier (even after a trigger job, which smoothed it somewhat) than I like.

For a bit more, you can get a CZ-75B in .40 or a CZ-75 SA in .40 and I think you've got a better gun. (Longer sight radius and longer barrel makes for more accurate, more easily, etc.)

I'll probably eventually sell my (or trade it) and get the 75 SA in its place.

Lots of guys on the CZ Forum love the 40B, so maybe I'm just somewhat jaundiced...

If nobody did it yet Grouse, Welcome to TFL. I had a CZ40. Put about 300 rounds through then took it to a gunshow..oh well.
It was one sweet pistol. Go to www.cz40.net and read all about it. Maybe it hasn't caught on because of the other 40 cal CZ's. It has the CZ black polymer finish, alloy frame makes it nice and light, and for around 300 bucks it's one heckeva deal.
Highly recommended! Best, J. Parker

I am accustomed to the 1911 grip, and I am very pleased with my CZ40.

Very accurate, 100% reliable after 600 rounds.

The CZ-40 is probably the best deal going in handguns at the moment. I liked the ones I've seen so far, my only beef being the sticky rubber grips...but for around $300, they're one helluva buy.
