Bad news. Tuesday night, I was cleaning my CZ-52 after shooting on Sunday, and I realized that the slide had cracked. Must be a flaw in the oroginal metal or something. I was shooting commercial S & B loads, which are lower pressure than the ammo for which the gun was originally designed.
Now I face the dilemma of trying to find a slide (several peopel list them on web sites, but I think they're mostly out of them at the present time), or replacing the pistol. As much as I loved the eccentricity of the CZ-52, I might look for a more modern bottle necked pistol round.
Any free advice? There's never a shortage of that on TFL.
What's a decent street price for a Steyr M357? A Beretta Cougar 8357? A SIG P226 in 357 SIG?
