CZ-100 vs Glock 26-in store impressions

First off,i must say that i'm not a big fan of no manual safety handguns although they have their place.
Yesterday i was checking out the stock at a local shop and finally had the chance to see a Glock 26 side-by-side with a CZ 100.In all honesty i have never fired a Glock live or dry and had never been able to even see a CZ 100 in person. They are very similar in size although the CZ 100 is a little bigger overall and both guns appear to be of first rate construction and hold 10 rounds of 9x19.
I am seriously considering one of these guns as a carry piece and have never considered Glocks because i'm a non-comformist and don't like to follow the herd (thats why i love my Hi-Point!:D ).
The trigger pulls couldn't be more different and i was shocked at how light and short a Glocks trigger is,and can now see why its not a problem for a 4 year old son of a LEO to kill somebody with one.The trigger of the CZ 100 is much longer and heavier and would be much harder for a child to trip. Both of these guns have slide releases that pretty much require you to have Superman thumbs to release.
I would give a slight ergonomic edge to the CZ 100 at least in my hands, but found both comfortable to hold.
As for price,i wouldn't be getting them from this shop and when all is said and done, the Glock would cost $200.00 more than the CZ and i'm not sure its worth it.I wish i knew what the service life of a CZ 100 is before i plunk down the dough.I don't want a 10 or 20,000 round lifespan gun that is then junked.Either of these guns i'm sure would probably outlive me and function great while doing so.Just my humble observations.:)

*sigh*

Another Glock bashing.

I shot both CZ-100 and Glock, both in .40.
While I'm a CZ guy, in the plastic gun world I would choose
Glock - better trigger and easier to shoot accurately.

A fella in my CCW class last year was shooting the CZ 100 in .40 and it was a sweet shooter. The grip fit my hand nice and I liked the sights. I have heard in the past that the early model CZ100 models had terrible triggers but has since cleaned up their act. I am not a big fan of the slide release since its inset on the handle. At least with the Glock you can get an extended slide release if you prefer. I shoot left handed an am able to work the standard slide release on the Glock with my trigger finger. Seemed like it would be harder on the CZ. For the money though the CZ 100 seems to be a good deal. We all know the CZ quality and service so you wont be sorry there. I have thought about getting one myself.

You might also want to consider the Steyr M9. For about $350 you get 10 round Klinton capacity, a trigger pull similar to a Glock's, and the option of an ambidextrous manual safety, AND an intrinsic key locking system which simultaniously prevent firing and takedown. Also included is a triangular sight with people tend to either love love love or hate hate hate.

IMO, the M9/40 has better ergonomics than Glocks, too. ;)

You may wish to ask about the CZ-100 on CZ-Forum. I have several Glocks and a number of CZ's, but not a CZ-100.
I have heard mostly poor reports on the trigger, but I understand it is better than it was upon the introduction of the model.
If it were my money, and I was a self-professed "non-conformist"...I'd also look at the Croation "wunder" now marketed by Springfield. Many rave about this gun...and I expect it is less money than a Glock.
If you think hi-caps are important (I did not say cheap), you will need to go Glock...or maybe CZ??? I'm not sure if CZ-75B mags can be used in the CZ-100....you can find out on CZ-Forum.
Have fun.
Oh, here's a link to CZ-Forum in case you are interested:

bash

Well, I will bash glocks every chance I get------except in the above listed tradgedy. That is not the fault of the weapon. It was the fault of an adult.

CZ-100

Check the review at CZ forum.

My CZ-100 has a long, smooth and light trigger pull (this require a conscious act to fire it), it fits well in my hand, it has a second strike capability (unlike Glock), has a firing pin block (wont fire unless you pull the trigger, same as glock), has a loaded chamber indicator, eats anything and hits the target where I aimed my sight, has a capacity of 13 + 1 in the chamber (you can use the magazine of CZ-75 or 85) and its price is just right for the money (sometimes cheap is not always low in quality, also from those Communist countries is not all evil).

Actually, I been in this situation also. When I was looking for CCW, I'm leaning toward G-26 because its well known but with the advantages I have mentioned above, I get the CZ-100.

Go with what is advantageous to you, this is just an opinion. Its your money.

CZ-100

I bought ammo, two hi-cap magazine (CZ-75 has 15 rounds capacity in here), holster (IWB and OWB) and mag pouch from the money I saved. Also don't forget the range fees.

I got to play with the Cz 100 for the first time today. Felt great to my hand, was smaller than I thought it would be and was light. I almost blew an O ring straining to release the slide though, very very stiff slide release.

I am a self admitted CZ addict...HI, Im Eric and I have CZisease :D
Anyway...as honest as I can convey, I have shot both guns...Glocks of friends and rentals and a rental CZ100...
The trigger on the CZ will get better with time....ends up like a Kahr sometimes...long and smooth. Glocks are good guns and I enjoy shooting them..
Physically the CZ is a little bigger, yet thinner than the baby G.
I like the feel and size of the CZ better...the grip angle, size and length is better for me, my hands and my "way of liking things".
Every gun Ive shot has been dependable and both are worthy of a look.
IMO, I would go with the CZ (did I just bash a Glock? ;) )
I think its just as good as the baby, thinner and "better" sized and just as functional....accurate etc. The price difference is just another reason to go with it......Shoot well

Note to everyone complaining about slide releases; Slide releases are strictly ornamental (IMO) on European pistols. The only time I touch it is to lock the slide back with no mag in the gun. To chamber a round with the slide locked back simply pull back on slide(slide release will disengage) and release slide. In the event of one-handed operation you would need the release.

So, long, hard triggers are good? As far as manual safeties go - none of my revolvers have them and they have all had trigger jobs to lighten and smooth them out. Its a pretty similar trigger to my Glocks.

I own a CZ - it is very nice. (I've shot a few others).

I own several Glocks - they have been extremely reliable.

Either one will do and you have certainly narrowed it down to two fine firearms. You can't go wrong with either choice.

That said, I prefer either my G26 or G27 to my CZ, but couldn't give you much of an argument of one over the other.

I also like redheads, but wouldn't argue about a blonde (or brunette or ........)

I would check out a Steyr if i wasn't freaked out about parts and service issues.I wonder if the new importer-whoever that is will handle warranty issues?
