Hello everybody

i am looking for the cylinder stop bolt for my Santa Barbara .44 New Army.

I tryed to modify the bolt from a Uberti but the angle is not exact the same and the part with the 2 free ending springs seems a little bit to short.

When try to use the uberti part the Hammer will not be able to move and the stop block on the bottom will not go down to allow a cylinder movement.

I contactet a company in Spain which have some parts from the old Santa Barbara Factory, but the bolt i search for is sold out. (email found here in an older thread)

Now my question does everone knows a replace part which fits? Maybe from Remington?

On the Expolse Pictures from Pietta i think the Pietta Bolt look more other than the orgiginal Sanat Barbara.

Maybe someone here has one to sell or knows which maufacture is useable.

I must appologise for some mistakes in writing, i am from germany and my English is not so good.

Well, Remington has not made those guns since about 1865, so they can't help.

It is common for reproduction parts to vary a little and sometimes a part from one maker just can't be made to work in another maker's gun. All I can suggest is that you buy bolts from all of the makers and see if you can get one that works. Here is one source:

Good luck.

Like Jim says it's probably going to a case of trial and error to find the closest fitting bolt with the least amount of fettling needed to work.
I'm betting you'll find one and have that thing smoking in no time,,:D

There used to be a guy posting here, Smokin Gun that had a Santa Barbara and an original and Italian clones that probably could have steered you in the right direction but I haven't sen him in a long time.

Hi Doc, wondered where you've been....

He seems to be comparing an exploded Pietta view with the Santa Barbara bolt, if I read him right. So I would guess broken.

It's too bad that so many posters just post once, and leave everyone that offered advice wondering....

Using the original bolt....

As a form for filing a replacement can work sometimes.

It should at least get the craftsman close.

Hi thanks for answers
The Org bolt is in use i Try to Collect Same Parts which are rare to find
I Spoke with a spain man Who knows Same about Santa Barbaras he told me that the Hammer Springs and Cycle bolts Are the Thinges which will Break often

I have 2 Springs for Backhand holt but no bolt

I'd buy that hand springs break and bolt legs break but I have never had a failure of an original hammer spring. But then I have never messed with a Santa Barbara pistol.
