Cylinder mark...

Is it normal for the bolt to leave marks on the cylinder between bolt notches. What should I do to correct this?

BTW, I own a Taurus M827.

Thanks,

Short answer, yes, it's normal.

There's pretty much nothing that can be done about it short of redesigning the internal mechanisms of your revolver.

I'm not a big revolver owner, I only have 2 right now. Neither has a cylinder scratch, and I shoot them pretty regularly. I was told long ago that the scratch is caused by free-spinning the cylinder (pulling the hammer back just enough to unlock the cylinder and then turning and/or "spinning" the cylinder). So I don't do that.
