cylinder face wear on 442

I recently got my 442 back from smith after it was shaving a bit of lead...the fron of the cylinder face had very little wear on it....when I got it back I dry fired it a bit and noticed the bluing wearing off on the front of the cylinder....is this normal? They put in a new barrel and the tolerances are much tighter....I can tell when I look for light where the cylinder and barrel meet...could they be too tight? Thanks in advance...

If you can't see any light between the barrel and the face of the cylinder, then they are rubbing together. No, that is not normal and should be attended to right away. Be sure you check the gap on each of the 5 chambers. It should appear even all of the way around. If it isn't, then there may be other problems.

Well, my eyes ain't what they used to be...in the light I was able to see a gap so I marked the bright spots with a sharpie and dry fired it...no wear on the ink..so I guess it was returned to me that way and I never noticed it....thanks anyway guys....if there wasn't a gap, I would definitely feel it and it doesn't bind up at all....
