Are you sure it is a CVA? Connecticut Valley Arms.
Seems every mention of "Buckstalker" only brings up Traditions as the maker.

Oops and yep!

Ooops. It is Traditions that makes the Buckstalker muzzle loader.

I wasn't sure where to post. The blackpowder forum seems to about real black powder.

Maybe we need a muzzle loader thread?

Closed breech, break MM/L

Your BuckStalker is a "closed" breech, "Break-action" in-line or what is classified as an MM/L. It's a faster twist to be able to accommodate Conicals or sabotted projectiles. Probably a .50cal with removable breech plug. Sadly this is pretty much where most M/L's have gone these days. They are good shooters, once you get your shot-string defined. …..
