CVA Accura vs Optima

Both rifles seem to share same advertising hype. That is, superior accurasy and ease of cleaning.

Are there any actual differences between these fairly new rifle designs?

i own both and they are both great rifles, you cant go wrong with either of them.

The optima has a slightly heavier trigger vs the accura, The New optima has a quick release breech plug VS the accura needing a wrench. The new accura V2 though has the same breech plug as the optima but its quite a bit more than the optima.

We shot the Optima stainless this weekend. The Accura has user adjustable trigger which would be nice, but we did well with the Optima.

We used White Hots and Powerbelt 245gr bullet. It was as accurate as any rifle I've shot. We cleaned after 3 shots. We thought the "kit" was a little expensive for what you get.

This was our first experience with a modern muzzleloader. Dad picked it up with the Konus scope package for 400$ from Cabela's. The bullets, powder, and primers are not cheap. But it was a blast figuratively and literally.

The stock is nicer looking on the Accura for sure. I didn't think much of the Optima stock as for the looks, but it was very comfy.

Never shot an Accura, but I do have two Optimas that have given great service. Accounted for much venison in the freezer. Mine are the older models with regular breechplugs. Cleaning is very easy. I've had best results with 2 50 gr. 777 pellets under a 250 gr. Hornady SST Speedsabot.

Just thought i'd add some pictures of the New model CVA's.

5 shots at 100 yards. I blew that one shot but hey... the first 4 make up for it :D
