As the title says, I have a brand-new Snake Charmer II (Verney-Carron, KS, manufactured) which is a hell of a lot of fun for what it is - a non-choked .410 garden gun - but the tiny size drives me crazy. I already contacted them and I can either buy the full-size "Field" stock - made of wood, surprisingly - for $48.50, or I can attempt to cut down my unused stock birch 10/22 stock to fit. I sized it up roughly, and I think it can be done with minimal problems. I consider myself decently handy with tools, and enjoy a challenge.
My questions are these: anyone ever attempted anything like this before? Any tips/tricks/difficulties/etc.? Should I forget ruining a decent stock, and order the Field edition? Any thoughts?
