I got home last night and found a Priority Mail box waiting ... yipee! Must be my new 460 Rowland Conversion kit! I open it up and sure enough, that's what was there ... well, almost ... where's the full length guide rod that the instructions are talking about? ... and the spring cap that allows the use of the FLGR? Oh ... look at the throat job on this barrel ... it's OK on the left side, but the right side is barely throated at all.
Well, my Springfield came with a FLGR (but I still wanted to be able to use the FLGR in one of the other 1911's) and I guess I can throat this barrel myself ... but for this price, I couldn't imagine that "some minor fitting" would refer to throating my own barrel ... and I KNOW I won't get it as good as the pros would?
I got into work today and was going to take some digital pics and send them to the manufacturer (Clark's Custom) but decided to call Brownells first ... VERY pleasant people ... I've bought a lot from them but have never had a problem that I had to deal with them about ... bottom line, my new kit will arrive tomorrow and they'll send someone by to pick up the original. Painless ... and hassle free.
Gotta love good customer service!
