Custom Eclipse II Range Report

Rationalized the purchase in many different ways, including but not limited to recent events on the east coast. It took some doing too because of the new house funds were/are limited. As they say, "Rationalization is more important than sex." Glad I did, finally got to the range today and I must say it is a great pistol so far.

200 rnds, no jams, accurate as I am, trigger has just a hint of creep bit that can be cured. It is a pretty pistol and I almost don't mind the front cocking serations. Only hiccup was the preshoot cleaning were it was slightly more difficult to get the slide back on the frame than my other 1911s due to the new grip safety feature, but it eventually went. Now I suppose I'll have to buy an Eclipse Compact to keep the other company.;)

Glad you like your Eclipse II

I like mine as well, and had pretty much the same experience you did, range wise and disassembly wise. Nice gun. Only problem for me (as well as many others) was the front tritium sight which went dark after 360 rounds. Apparently a recognized problem. One of these days I have to send the slide back to Kimber for sight replacement. Hope yours is one of the good ones. :)
