Custom Conversion Gunsmiths?

Hello!

Does anyone know of gunsmiths who will do custom conversion work? I know of R. L. Millington and Kenny Howell, but I'm not sure that either of them are taking new business right now (I can't find valid contact info for either of them on the web).

Thank you in advance!

Hi Craig,

No, nothing. I intend to try the phone number, but I'm not hopeful...

Edit to add: the only web page I've found is (www.armsportllc.net), which was last updated in 2003

Karl Nedbal in Vösendorf/Austria is doing custom conversions using Belgian Centaures, Piettas and Ubertis as base guns privided by the clients, alternatively used or new C&B revolvers in his inventory. www.nedbal.at, info@nedbal.at.
Nedbal works against original model guns in his collection.
He is doing gated Remmie conversions (friend of mine got one in .44 Special: he is very happy), Colt Thuers (a happy friend got an Uberti based one, Nedbal also made a custom Centaure Army for me with all the loading tools and cartridge cases), Colt Richards (he made a custom Centaure Army for me in .44 Colt last year: excellent job), Colt RMs 1851 Navies and 1960 Armies (he is currently doing a custom Centaure Army in .44 Colt for me).
After trial and error I feel he can be recommended if you live in Europe or can arrange for the US export of your C&B pistol and 3 months later the re-import as a cartridge firing revolver.

Why not just buy a new Cimarron Open Top, Richards, or R-M, and tune that up ? Quick, cheaper, less shipping costs and import/export hassle.

Or is it the lure of the Belgian steels ?

Yep! And I'm currently not planning on converting this. I posted more to share, and let Bootsie, SG, etc., know that I'm a new F.R.O.C.S. member!
