Custom Bullets in .224

I have used BIB bullets and bullets from JLK. They are both good but am looking to try some others, does anyone know of any other bullet makers out there that make .224 bullets in 52gr? I have a Lilja barrel with a 1 in 14 twist.

You don't need custom made bullets. .224" is a standard diameter.
Speer makes hordes of 52 grain .224" bullets. Sierra makes a 52 grain Match King. Hornady makes a Match and an ELD Match.

I have used every kind of common commercial bullets. They never shot better than 3/4" at 100 yds. With BIB I shoot consistant 1/2" or under. That is why I want to know about other hand made bullets. Even Sierra was not under 3/4".

After shooting Bench Rest for a long time it is not the Bullet . I shot 52 gr. flat Base Sierra it could be a number of things . What Trigger are you using what powders have you tried also what primers what Scope and how big .

Poconolg, I got into BR just after 6ppc started winning. Prior to that, lot shot 222 with custom 52gr FB and most of those had tight neck. I don't remember anyone shooting 22-250.

Just putting heavy barrel on Rem action doesn't make it BR rifle vs looking case used in BR. You see 6ppc today but don't see 22ppc.

If you want to shoot small groups change that rifle so it shoot 6ppc case and have some fun with it.

I have a Rem 700 action with a 1 1/8 diameter barrel 26" long with a Jewel trigger. Before the current barrel was shot out I was shooting from the mid 3's to the low 4's with the occasional group in the 2's or high teens. I was using 34gr 2520 with a BIB bullet and Win primers. I was using Lapua brass and measuring and trimming them each time I shot. The common commercial bullets did not do good including Berger. I am always looking to to better and if I have to pay a little more I do not mind.
