Results from hand recounts in two Democrat-leaning Florida counties. Democrat Al Gore has made a net gain of 66
votes, which, if approved, would trim George W. Bush's 930-vote lead in the state to 864.
-- In Broward County, with all 609 precincts recounted, plus 38,000 absentee ballots, Gore gained 64 votes.
-- In Palm Beach County, with 165 of 531 precincts recounted, Gore gained two votes.
-- In Miami-Dade County, election officials have suspended their hand recount. Previously, with 135 of 614 precincts
recounted, Gore had gained 157 votes. But the county no longer plans to ask the state to include those totals in their final returns.
