Note the use of terms such as "stockpile", "All those weapons", "police got an alarming tip", etc.

I particularly like the reporter's observation of "as if nothing really happened".

NOTHING DID HAPPEN!

The students smoking the hookah don't even know how to form a sentence; but it sure was scary even though they knew absolutely nothing about the incident.

Say What!?!

How is keeping weapons illegal, let alone a federal charge? May be against the dorm rules.

This story steams me to no end, because in the entire story, there's not a single mention of just how such acts of possession might be illegal.

FEDERAL CHARGES!?!

Not a Federal Charge

They did not say anything about Federal Charges. They said he was charged with "Felonies." Big, big difference AND stupid! I am not familiar with Colorado's laws, but even on Virginia Tech's campus just having the weapons would get you tossed for trespassing not a felony charge.

Not sure but seems like Colorado has a law similar to NC. Here, possession of any firearm, knife, or even a round of ammunition is a class I felony on any public or private school property whether it's K-12 or university.

Did anyone else find that report almost comical. I love how you see them interview two guys who seem to be rather more concerned with playing catch than the fact that the media wants to make mountains out of molehills. Then they interview the stereotype new-age hippie. I agree that in the wake of the VT tragedy it was really poor judgment on this guy's part, but my qualm is the lack of quality in the journalism and broadcast. I guess they figure if you scream gun loud enough, the hysteria will take care of itself.

All of them had this "yeah, whatever" tone to their voices. Even hippie boy who said it was scary seemed to mean something else (I think "concerning" would have been a better word, considering his tone).

It was comical though seeing the reporters and police chief treating this so seriously when none of the students seemed to be concerned at all. :D

"A small stockpile"?

That's far from a stockpile. A pistol and a shotgun... those reporters would soil themselves if they saw my arms room.

The kid should have kept them in the trunk of his car if the law is really that nasty, but you have to feel a little sorry for him. He's being raked over the coals like a serial killer for two guns and a few boxes of ammo.

Didn't watch the video, but I did read the written report.

In one paragraph, they said the kid had "an array of weapons" and in the next identified a pistol and a shotgun... I suppose you can call a set of two, an array, but come on folks!

I'm certainly not familiar with Colorado law on this but in NC even that is a felony if your car is parked on campus. Sad but true.

In programming, you can make an array with only one term in it. :)
