Has anyone here tried them out yet ?

Are they any good ? Reliable ?

Can the dot be seen in daylight conditions ?

How about shooting performance , does the
laser enhance accuracy ?

I know that it is GREAT for point shooting , ie
'sightless' shooting and also very accurate in
LOW LIGHT conditions.

Your views please.

Q -"Has anyone here tried them out yet ?"
A - Yes I've tried them, I use to own a set.

Q -"Are they any good ? Reliable ?"
A - Yes they're good, they are also reliable.

Q -"Can the dot be seen in daylight conditions ?"
A - Not very well. It's hard to see is bright sun light.

Q -"How about shooting performance"
A - Shooting preformance was good in that they didn't have to be readjusted after you shoot

Q -"does the laser enhance accuracy ?"
A - No, I found i was tring to chase the dot and pull the trigger when it was on target.

My opinion is that they are a semi fun toy.
I think they would work better for a lefty, the press pad was in the hollow of my palm and I had to flex my palm in to turn it on. When I held my gun in my left hand the pad was right at my finger tips.

I sold the one I had with the gun it was on.

I have them on my S&W 342 (that I swap to the 940) and on my SIG P229. I have had no problems beyond cleaning the swithch on the j-frame version, which I consider proper maintenance. I could see the dot on a target last weekend at an outdoor range. The distance was 10 feet and the range is shaded by trees, it was about 14:00. I don't know about increasing accuracy. Use sights if you want accuracy. That little red dot bounces all over the place. I use the laser more for dry fire practice around the house and to enhance point shooting abilities. I have talked to a few officers that have used them and they say the imtimidation factor of the red dot is very real and are happy to have anything that gives them an edge.

I have a set on a 1911, I bought them because someone was selling them cheap. They're a fun range toy for a change, but I don't believe in using a laser sight on a defensive gun.

I bought some from a TFL member--1911, w/box, papers and wrenches?

I have used lasers sights on nighttime varminting .22's and feel that they give quite an edge at night (when they work right and don't come off or get loose). Right now, my "garden gun" is a Henry .22 lever action shooting CB rounds with a Streamlight Scorpion and a laser mounted to the forearm. (I got an extra forearm so I can switch back to the "old west look.")

Anyway, I put the laser grips on a SA Mil-Spec and they work great. They are built well and don't seem to be bothered at all by the recoil. Practicing holding the dot still while you aim and dry fire the gun is good for your accuracy.

Regards.

their web site said that minor mods' were required for my .45, so I sent them 3!!!!!!!!!! e-mails over a weeks period, asking what was required.

To this day, I have never heard back from them.

I'll keep my money in my pocket, thank you very much.

Tim

Would you happen to be the comedian that occasionally appears on "The Bob and Tom" show? If so, then I would like to tell you that you're absolutely hilarious!

If not, then please disregard as I hang my head in abject embarassment....

TimWilson,

Would your pistol happen to be a Springfield Armory pistol?

I was wondering myself what would have to be changed.

I've got to second notbubba (and others who've posted) on nearly every account. For me (a lefty), the switch was on the wrong side of my P228 lasergrips. Evidently the location of the switch varies by model.
One thing to keep in mind: at least on the P228, the lasergrips really increased the width of the grip. It made reaching the DA trigger challenging. I've come to prefer a pair of Hogue soft rubber grips on my pistols -- soaks up recoil, and besides -- I prefer aimed fire to point shooting anyway. YMMV

ojibweindian: I've heard of, but never seen, that show so I guess I'm not who you think. Sorry.

Glockster35: Yes, it is a SA. Mil-spec (before they all came "loaded").

SA Mil-Spec

I can't imagine what "modification" might be necessary. I've got mine on a SA MilSpec and they fit great and the pistol shoots fine.

Regards.

I bolted mine to a Kimber, and they didn't seem to need anything "fixed". :) I looked at my Springfield, and I can't imagine what would have to be "fixed" to allow them to work.

Thanks for the info. However, if the company couldn't be bothered to reply to questions, I can't bother to give them any money.
