Crimson Trace Grips

Just installed the Crimson Trace grips on new Ruger SP-101 and they are quite an addition. I was very impressed with the fit and finish. Adjusting the beam to point of aim was quick and easy. Nice product.

I agree.

I was skeptical, but have since come to the conclusion that LaserGrips are the best thing to happen to the J-frame snubbie since boot grips...

all that recoil and nothing gets outta whack?
im also sceptical... and the money isnt pocket change.

I have a set of crimson trace grips on my Colt Commander.

I found the little red dot very useful during a home invasion, I was able to keep my point of aim on the goblin while also keeping aware of my surroundings (he kept calling for a buddy of his to come help him once he got inside).

I really wouldnt have wanted to have had tunnel vision trying to maintain a sight picture on that goblin - I probably would have just shot him becouse I would have been unable to scan the area for the second one.

Anyway my Commander gets used & abused, its a daily carry piece so I bang and bump it on everything and I couldnt even begin to count the number of rounds I have put through it.

The crimson trace grips are well worth the money in my opinion.

Crimson Trace Lasergrips

I've had a set of Crimson Trace Lasergrips on my J-Frame model 638 (bodyguard) for several years now, and "so far" they've never even needed readjustment. The good thing is however, that you can re-adjust them if need be.

The life of the batteries have also been amazing. I replace them yearly, just like smoke detector batteries, but only as a precaution.

The price of the small grip Crimson Trace grips for the J-Frame Smith isn't really that much either. The grips for the bigger firearms can get pricy.

Great product in my estimation. :D

I've had 5 sets, all great. I second all that good stuff, especially what Puppy said. You don't even realize what tunnel-vision you do have until you've practiced with (or actually used on a BG) CT's.

Incredibly it's true. Had these on my S&W 642 38 Special and they were solid! The only time I ever had to readjust was after removing/reinstalling the grips after cleaning, and even then it was only sometimes and ever so little...

I have just aquired a S&W J-Frame 640 stainless and would love to buy a set of the smaller Laser Grips (not the rubber overmold ones)!

 WHERE CAN I GET THE CHEAPEST PRICE?

Thanks in advance for the help! :)

Laser devices are for those who can't hit the broadside of a barn or those who are just too butt lazy to learn how to shoot accurately.

am suprised at both your arrogance and your ignorance.

Seriously. It was a ridiculous statement.

Take a look at the lasermax page with customer testimonials as well as stories from iraq where soldiers have used their laser devices in combat. They have a great effect of causing the BG to rethink their plans once they see a red dot dancing on their chests. That alone is worth the price of the grips.

While some may be chomping at the bit to put a couple of holes in whatever BG they run up against, I'd rather get the guy to surrender and save the related court costs and confiscation of my gun during the duration of the investigation.

These things work. Not just for putting rounds on a target during a gunfight, but also to keep you from having to start the gunfight.

If anything they make you feel safer. I have seen a couple of people at the range that had laser aiming devices and never once did I see them even try to line up a shot.

That's a RANGE. Where you have ideal lighting situations, a perfectly aligned target, no immediate threat, etc. etc..

They're using them as sight substitutes...and they evidently haven't bothered to learn how to aim properly. As with most problems, it's user error rather than any inherent fault of the equipment.

People in situations where they're USING their guns and not just plinking actually have good use for them; if someone comes at you, would you have enough time to actually bring it up to sights, or would you start point-shooting? For that matter, if (as mentioned) you know that there's more than one bad guy afoot, would you want to stay zeroed in to the detriment of situational effectiveness?

Critical thinking, Will: do it.

it was rumored around my kitchen table this evening that laser sights show "an intent to inflict bodily harm"
i understand that if i have to draw my piece, i had intent.... but beyond that, any reprocussions?
thanks from a newb

not so happy

tried a pair on my k frame snubby and was not so happy as you guys.
A) the laser activated when I did not intend at times ( I am left handed and button is on wrong side for me)
B) the grip material is that funky hard plastic material, better if they could work a deal with pachmayr or hogue for some decent grip material
C) inclined to think in normal light conditions a person is better off with general combat training of "front sight, front sight, front sight", I suspect the laser would actually slow most of us down.

Don't blame the laser grip blame the person behind the weapon!!!! This is like the guy who has to have a 45 but can't hit anything with it but refuses to go to a smaller caliber or softer recoil gun!
I have laser grips on my 92fs and love them but when at the range i shoot both on and off and also hip(no sights at all) bacause when it comes down to it i want to know i can do it.And as for not hitting the broad side of the barn i can drop the hinges of the door at 25 yds. and take the keyhole out at 100yds with my ar (no laser here). But as said ealier they are an indespenseable item for self defense!!!!!! I just bought another set for a taurus 85 ultralight i just bought. They have been on my beretta for 2 years now and i still haven't had to adjust them even after changeing batteries and cleaning gun.
