Crime cover up in Britain

The worst part of this scene is the new improved "proactive" antisocial legislation that allows people to be imprisoned for up to 5 years for antisocial behavior, no actual crime necessary. Now a enterprising Tyrant could use that to "proactively" get rid of those "antisocial" politically resistant groups that keep stirring up trouble in the slaves. Wonderful, I know I'd really like to be able to pick up a 5 year stay because someone didn't like me or my beliefs and called me in as a candidate for proactive antisocial legislation.

See? Once the guns go away, things begin to go downhill really fast. Last year, they lost their right to trial by jury. That's right; in the interest of streamlining and speeding up the trial process, the judiciary determines whether your case needs a jury or should just be decided by a magistrate. Now they can lock you up for crimes they think you might someday commit...

Whether it strangles you with a barbed-wire noose or smothers you with fluffy goose-down pillows, totalitarianism is totalitarianism.

That sound you hear is Orwell spinning in his grave.

I bet even he would be surprised at how fast things have moved in the last 10 years in the U.K.

Careful!!
Someone with thin skin might be thinking about accusing you of "British Bashing" for these posts.

Mendacity is the system we live in.

Let them think as they wish. I've never claimed to be politically correct.
In return, they can talk bad about me all they want and even report me to the Queen if they'd like.
:p

"In private, many officers blame low salaries for the difficulty in attracting the right candidates. Only about one in five of those who apply to join the force make the grade. An official at Wiltshire police who is responsible for recruitment said: "People fail on the physical and literacy tests. They are not up to it.

"The problem is that we are competing against high-salary jobs and that puts people off as they do not get as much money in the force. Many of the people applying do not realise that they need to be able to think for themselves and act independently. They are looking to be told what to do and that is just not good enough."

Imagine that. They've been breeding sheep and now wonder why they have sheep.
