Creative Carry Alternative

I know it's NOT for everyone, but I've carried inside the pants with a SmartCarry for over 10 years.

Cool weather's not here yet, so I can't use a full shoulder rig.

But I would like to utilize the "shoulder holster" concept.

This week I've been using my old, worn SmartCarry system as a quasi-shoulder system but just strapping it across my chest with the Kahr CM9 under my arm.

No, it's not perfect. No, it's not the full, "ActiveProGear" rig (which I just bought and returned). No, it doesn't feel tight and restrictive.

Yes, it's comfortable and it works.

Unless one has to button their top button or wear a tie, it might be an alternative carry system.

And, Woolrich, makes long-sleeve shirts with two fake buttons on the front with magnets in them. That shirt really works. I bought two of them.

I think the undershirt is key as is not getting it too tight or loose enough to slide.

Mine got adjusted two or three times to get it just right.

Carried it all day comfortably.

I'm thinking it will slide down if you have to run or jump. I use something similar. I take a 1 3/4 in. leather belt, thread the holster/ammo carriers on and wear it just above the belt on my jeans. It's is not threaded through any belt loops and the weight is supported by the belt in the jeans. It's easy on and off and you can slide the gun around where you need it without interference from belt loops on the pants. A loose shirt covers the rig and allows easy access. When I have to drive any distance I just rotate the belt around to place the holster in a cross draw position for comfort and access while seated. If you have to go in a place that doesn't allow guns it's easy to simply unbuckle and slip off and put back on.
